Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. Talent must ensure they own the rights to their music before submitting.
  2. Talent must submit a record that has never been released commercially before.
  3. Yano Lyrics will take a royalty from the compilation for the presentation, marketing, promotion and distribution of the compilations.
  4. Yano Lyrics will promote content on its available platforms.
  5. Yano Lyrics will have sole rights to the distribution of the master.
  6. The master of the records remain the full right of the talent. Yano Lyrics will have rights over the record to distribute and market for a certain period of time.
  7. The talent must submit all meta data of the song, to ensure all contributors are credited for the record when submitted for release.
  8. The talent will be responsible for submitting all composers of the records, Yano Lyrics will not be held liable for any discrepancies that may occur due to incorrect information provided by the talent.
  9. All composers will be due to their publishing royalties. All composers need to ensure they are registered with all collecting societies (e.g. Samro). Talent to submit a formal split sheet.
  10. The talent is expected to be honest about the ownership of the record and its contributors. If there are any disputes on that may occur on a record, the record will be disqualified from the competition.
  11. Once the talent submits the record and the record is submitted for the final compilation album, the talent may not distribute the song on any other platform, or with any other label or person for the duration of the license.
  12. Yano Lyrics will be responsible for all legal work required for the compilation.
  13. The talent will be required to sign all legal paperwork prior to the release of the project.
  14. If the talent is a minor, they will need parental or guardian authorisation before entering the competition. Any legal documentation may only be signed by a legal guardian.
  15. Yano Lyrics will shoot content for all artists featuring on the compilation for the purposes of the promotion of the records. Which Yano Lyrics will post on its social media platforms.
  16. Records that will be selected for the final compilation, will be licensed to Yano Lyrics for a period no less than 5 years.
  17. Yano Lyrics will take a 40% royalty from each of the records selected and distributed under the compilation structure.
  18. If the artist is signed to a label, please send you have a clearance waiver that permits you to submit your record to be part of the compilation album.
  19. Yano Lyrics compilation album competition is not a record deal, or artist distribution deal. It’s a 1 record license deal, which is only specific to the record and its distribution and marketing for a certain period of time.
  20. A full contract with detailed terms will be sent to the selected talent for final signature once selection process has been completed.
